Selene usually sports something that might be described as pastoral. Her white linen under-dress sports embroidery at the collar and along the sleeves, ending in a puff of fabric tied tightly around her wrists with ribbons. A sleeveless outer dress covers the linen, and is made of light brown corduroy with shiny buttons up the front. A silver locket hangs around her neck, worn from the years and from constant touching.

PERSONALITY
Other than her mother, her relationship with whom is nurturing and strong, Selene's relationship with Cairos is the most important and defining for her. Her mother, in her attempt to keep her daughter safe, enables Selene to stay hidden from the world and take no risks. Yes, this means that she is out of harm's way but it also means that she is less likely to grow and experience the world. Cairos is more likely to encourage her to push past her comfort zone and try new things, and having grown up with this energy, Selene has grown into an open minded person who is not easily startled by the strange and unusual. She sees the beauty in the darkness just as much as in the light.
Selene's dreams and nightmares are just two sides of the same coin and all deal with her parents. Her nightmare centers around losing her mother, either by the ravages of time, the risks of life, or emotional distancing. Her dream is to finally meet her father, who lives in the dark spaces and fog of her mind. She has only ever glimpsed short sightings of him, and has built him up in her mind as a monolith of love and fatherly ideals.
The forest is Selene's safe space, bother literally and figuratively. With a Hag in residence, there are few who would dare to bring trouble into the woods and thus bring trouble to Selene and Cairos. If fear didn't stop them, Selene's reputation and kindness has also worked wonders in dissuading the potential for danger. Emotionally, the woods are where Selene can be herself without fear of strangers or uncertain situations. She can hunt when needed, relax in the glades, gather herbs, visit with Cairos, and let her guard down completely.
Selene would sacrifice herself in all instances if it meant that others could reach their potential. More specifically, if her mother, Cairos, or Aunty Granny (don't tell her>/i> that) could reach their full potential.
Red Riding Hood would be a good comparison, with Selene living in the woods and the forest having a less than gentle Hag/Granny residing inside who she has indeed brought apples to on occasion. She is perpetually chipper and optimistic even when the forest paths dwindle and the light diminishes, and she is likely to offer kindness to all creatures, no matter how scary they might seem to others.

Knowing the reputation of vampires and their offspring with humans, Isa opted to raise Selene alone in the woods in the cottage her lover had gifted her so early on in their relationship. There, she raised their daughter as a human, providing convenient excuses for her weakness in the sun and using her own blood in their meals to keep her child healthy during her growth.
Selene’s parents continued to meet up throughout Selene’s formative years, although she never formally met her father other than a couple hazy memories of locking eyes between windows or cracks in the stone of their cottage. Selene can recall watching her mother and father picnic beneath the night sky out beyond the fence of their cottage, giggling together and sharing plates of fruit that Isa had grown in her garden when they thought she was asleep. In her mind, they were madly in love with one another, and she imagined her father to be both mysterious and warm.
Her father stopped coming around when she reached adolescence, and while her mother grew melancholy, she still waited eagerly for him regardless. In truth, he’d stopped coming to save himself and Isa from the inevitable sorrow of time and age, not sure he could bear to watch her grow old and die without him.
Selene’s mother taught her to forage, grow crops, and hunt for their food to avoid needing to go to market. She homeschooled her daughter with all the knowledge she had and when she ran out, spirited away in the night to borrow books from the nearby town’s library. She was taught to have a love and reverence for nature, which provided them and afforded them their comfortable life together, and gave thanks to Jaidi for their many opportunities. She began showing signs early on that she might become an Oracle of Nature.
ABILITIES
CURE LIGHT WOUNDS
Along with Selene's learned abilities of medicines and herbs, she also possesses a more supernatural ability to heal smaller wounds and mend light breaks. She typically does this while applying ointments or salves, unbeknownst to her, so she is unaware that she is as skilled in healing magicks as she is.
GUIDANCE
Be it thanks to her ability to read the trail and underbrush, or her suspicion of strangers and danger, she has developed a small shield of sorts to mild dangers that she can share with others, offering them a small amount of added safety from danger.
OBSCURING MIST
From years of hiding in the forest from the outside world and thinking strangers are mostly dangerous to her and hers, she has learned to harness the low hanging fog and mist of the woods to obscure herself and those around her from possible harm.
SKILLS
NATURE
Having been raised in the forest, her mother taught her much in the ways of agriculture, textile creation, cooking, hunting, tracking, and the gathering of culinary and medicinal herbs. She has a keen eye for tracks and trails and her knowledge of things that are safe to consume is very detailed.
HEALING
While the village often merged their ideas of her mother and Cairos' mother into one terrifying being, they did have a need to come to her for help when their crops failed, their livestock sickened, and their families fell to fever. As such, Selene assisted her mother with creating tinctures, ointments, and salves, and has come to know how to cure many rudimentary sicknesses.
DIVINATION
Thanks to her closeness to nature and her less than human lineage, she has learned to tell the smallest of futures simply based on the way the wind is blowing, the smell of the earth, the way the clouds look, and how the bones lay (although that last one she learned from Cairos).
MISC

Child abuse/death, animal abuse/death, and heavy substance abuse I am willing to have brought up as long as they are also properly tagged before hand and are not too gratuitous in their descriptions or recollections.
